Established in 1946 by Robert Graves, Indian River Exchange Packers was passed to his son-in-law, George Hamner Sr. and then to his son, George Hamner Jr. The packing house was originally located on US 1 in Vero Beach. This house had a North and South unit plus they used an additional smaller location in Vero Beach as their third unit. The current location was built in 1987 and rebuilt when 3 hurricanes hit in 2004. Primarily a fresh fruit, export packing house, Indian River Exchange Packers can also boast of a well organized fundraising/gift program.
